Welcome

The Surrey Police Retired Comrades Association has been caring for the welfare of serving and retired Surrey Police officers and staff since 1935. The association currently has members in the UK and many other countries worldwide.

Working within the police service is one of the top five most stressful professions in the UK. Police officers and staff are routinely exposed to some of the worst incidents imaginable which affect even the most experienced. According to the Police Federation, between 2022 and mid 2025 approximately 100 serving/former officers and staff have taken their own lives.

After retirement, officers and staff, just like all people will require support at some time. The SPRCA operates a network of welfare representatives throughout Surrey and beyond, and has close ties with the Surrey Branch of the National Association of Retired Police Officers (NARPO).

As well as providing welfare services, the SPRCA also helps keep retired Surrey officers and staff in touch with each other virtually through social media and email communications, and physically through clubs and social events.
